A Journey of Artistic Discovery Across Europe
Azione_Improvvisa
Azione_Improvvisa is a contemporary music ensemble rooted in Italy and integral to Anomalía ETS, where research and experimental practice form the core of its artistic vision.
Central to the ensemble is a quartet — Margherita Berlanda (accordion), Pierpaolo Dinapoli (electric guitar), Andrea Antonel(theorbo), and Davide Bardi (electronics). This distinctive sonic palette challenges and expands traditional definitions of musical identity.
Since its foundation in 2017, Azione_Improvvisa has extended its practice beyond performance, embracing pedagogical and compositional research through the contributions of Raul Masu and Daniela Fantechi. The whole ensemble cultivates a fertile interdisciplinary environment that bridges creation, education, and technological inquiry.
It has collaborated with Michelle Abondano, Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, Maurizio Azzan, Zeno Baldi, Giovanni Bertelli, Silvia Borzelli, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Farzia Fallah, Daniela Fantechi, Einike Leppik, Mauro Lanza, Marco Momi, Filippo Perocco, Macarena Rosmanich, Lula Romero, Mikel Urquiza, Andrea Valle.
Recipient of a Grant-in-Aid from the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, the ensemble has presented its work in significant festivals such as Angelica (Bologna), Transart (Bolzano), and Milano Musica, Commute Festival (Tallinn), Società Filarmonica di Trento, Kortrijk Festival (Belgium), Milano Musica, Musica Insieme Festival (Panicale), MA/IN Festival, Unerhörte Musik Festival (Germany) and has engaged in residencies at institutions including Centro Santa Chiara (Trento) and Fondazione Spinola Banna (Turin).
From 2020 the Ensemble is the artistic board of Signal to Noise Festival in Pergine Valsugana (TN).
Through its continuous interrogation of sonic boundaries, Azione_Improvvisa positions itself at the forefront of contemporary music’s evolving landscape.
