Continuum XXI

Continuum XXI combines early and new music in a unique and innovative way. The ensemble develops projects that deal with existential themes of the European tradition that are still relevant today: Chaos & Order, Liquid Love, Fury & Fragility, Madness & Truth, Ritual Reloaded, etc. 

Continuum XXI has won important prizes and scholarships, including Podium Gegenwart (Deutscher Musikrat, first edition), #MusikerZukunft (Deutsche Orchester Stiftung), etc. The ensemble has performed world premieres of various aesthetics and formats, e.g. by Peter Ablinger, Raphaël Cendo, José Ma Sánchez-Verdú, Hanna Eimermacher and many others. 

Continuum XXI has performed at important festivals and venues throughout Europe, including Hellerau - European Centre for the Arts, cresc. Biennale together with Ensemble Modern and IEMA, Guggenheim Museum, Kühlhaus Berlin, cercle Wien and soon at the PAN Music Festival in Korea. 

The ensemble will soon be releasing a CD on the NEOS label, combining early and new music by Sánchez- Verdú, Ligeti, Berio, Monteverdi and Telemann. Research projects such as the Arciorgano (a microtonal organ) are also an important part of the ensemble.
