Ingvild Ness
Ingvild Ness is a Norwegian flutist whose work moves between orchestral performance, contemporary music, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music, later continued her artistic development at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and is today a part of the IEMA ensemble 25/26.
Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hanover, as well as an orchestral academy position with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. Alongside her orchestral work, she is an active chamber musician. In 2021, she won first prize with Trio Bris at the Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Competition.
Ness has performed at festivals including the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, the 180° Festival in Sofia, and the Klangbrücken Festival in Hanover. Particularly drawn to contemporary and experimental contexts, she regularly collaborates in interdisciplinary projects that brings together music, dance, and visual media, exploring new forms of performance and artistic expression.
