Juliette Dournaud
Juliette Dournaud is a French pianist based in Lausanne (Switzerland). Her artistic activity focuses on chamber music, orchestral piano, and contemporary creation. She performs regularly throughout Europe as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral pianist, and shares the stage in two duos: the Duo Takemitsu, with violist Solène Dumontier, and the Duo 2.3, with mezzo-soprano Laura Jarrell. Since 2020, she has been selected as a “Young Talent Artist” and performs in solo recitals and chamber music concerts in Paris.
Passionate about exploring new modes of expression, she is involved in contemporary music and musical theater projects. Juliette collaborates closely with many composers and specializes in the repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries. She has been selected for the Impuls International Academy of Contemporary Music in Graz (Austria), the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra (Switzerland), the Ensemble Ulysses (France), and the Mixtur Festival in Barcelona (Spain).
She has participated in the creation of works by Rebecca Saunders, Mikel Urquiza, Arnau Brichs, Natacha Diels, Alex Vaughan, Gilles Grimaitre, and Matteo Gualandi, and is the dedicatee of pieces composed by Nicolas Roulive, Pablo Andrés, and Raimonda Žiūkaitė.
Juliette performs regularly with renowned contemporary music ensembles such as the Ensemble Contrechamps, the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain.
Alongside her concert career, she teaches piano at the Jaques-Dalcroze Institute in Geneva and, since 2023, has been assistant in the Music & Movement department of the Haute École de Musique de Genève.
