Ksenija Franeta completed her Bachelor’s Diploma in 2022 at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory of Music in Trieste under the guidance of Luisa Sello. In 2023 she moved to Lucerne, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Contemporary Music Performance with Professor Pirmin Grehl.

She has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy, Montenegro and Switzerland as well as across Europe: Germany, Austria, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Lituania. Since she moved in Switzerland she had the opportunity to perform at prestigious festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, Stanser Musiktage, Lucerne Guitar Concerts, Forum Neue Musik, and Performance Art Giswil. These all include her solo performances, chamber music, electronics and improvisation.

In 2024 she presented her first composition Okreni se (?) created in collaboration with colleagues Héctor Sobrino and Julián Croatto, and premiered Graphite Scores by Swiss composer Thomas Mejer. In March 2025 she was awarded an honorable mention at the Valentino Bucchi Contemporary Music Competition.

The year 2025 was especially rich in important premieres: the Swiss premieres of wo.man sitting at the piano by Francesca Verunelli and Mahabharata by Riccardo Nova, as well as world premieres of works by young Italian composers Carmen Fizzarotti and Eduardo Dadone with the ULYSSES Ensemble, of which she was a member. At the Darmstadt Summer Course (Ferienkurse für Neue Musik), she gave the world premiere of Chaya Czernowin’s The Divine Thawing of the Core. Throughout these projects she worked closely with the composers themselves, deepening her artistic and interpretative insight.

Ksenija’s work often crosses traditional boundaries, embracing interdisciplinary projects that merge visual arts, text, movement, electronics, and improvisation, as she continues to broaden her artistic horizons and explore new possibilities of musical expression.
