A Journey of Artistic Discovery Across Europe
Louisa Palmi
Louisa Palmi is a composer, artist, and digital orchestra conductor working with electronics, electroacoustics, field recordings, and 3D sound technology to create immersive audio experiences. With a background spanning music, mathematics, and medicine, her practice is strongly interdisciplinary, often merging artistic methods with scientific research and cross-disciplinary collaboration to open new ways of perceiving and understanding complex phenomena.
In her practice, her work focuses on a specific themes: Dust to Dust explores death and decomposition through scientific sonification, Is it for the Government reflects on the cycles of urban construction, Beginning examines our technologically saturated world, and Abeyance lingers in a moment of pause. Through these societal and existential snapshots, Palmi investigates how sound can serve as both a poetic and analytical tool.
Her works have been presented at venues and festivals across Europe, including IRCAM, MA/IN, Tallinn Music Week. In 2023, Palmi was named Emerging Artist at the Arctic Arts Festival and was selected for KUPP 2.2, a development program for promising composers under 35.
