Luciano Maria Moricca
Luciano Maria Moricca (born in Siracusa, Italy) began his formal studies at the Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan with Daniele Scanziani, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. He later completed his master’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels with Karel Schoofs, where he also took courses in contemporary music with Bart Bouckaert. He is currently part of the International Ensemble Modern Akademie (IEMA) programme, in collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt.
Throughout his studies, he had the opportunity to collaborate with prominent musicians and ensembles such as Marcello Panni, Vitali Alekseerok, Sonig Tchakerian, and the Ensemble Écoute. He also featured on the CD ›20th Century Music for Wind Ensemble‹, released by Da Vinci Classics & Jazz, which showcases works for wind ensemble by major 20th century composers like Stravinsky, Persichetti and Milhaud.
As a soloist, he has performed for the Società Concerti Città di Noto and has held orchestral positions and collaborated with institutions including the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, the Orchestra di Fiati della Svizzera Italiana, and ensembles such as I Solisti and Spectra in Belgium.
Supported by the ULYSSES Platform, Luciano is part of the International Ensemble Modern Akademie (IEMA) programme 2025-26, in collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt, where he studies with Christian Hommel
