What does it mean to be a ULYSSES Artist or ULYSSES Emerging Ensemble?

As a ULYSSES Artist or Emerging Ensemble, you’ll join our community of emerging contemporary music artists – composers, instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors and sound designers – based in Europe and eligible non-EU countries (see list here).You’ll have a dedicated space on our ULYSSES Artists page to present yourself and your work, and your name will be circulated to members of the ULYSSES Platform for consideration in future opportunities: workshops, concerts, commissions or residencies.

How can I become a ULYSSES Artist or Emerging Ensemble?

Make sure you fit the eligibility criteria, then contact us to request an application form. Twice a year, the Platform members will collectively review, discuss and select artists in line with the activities they will propose for the following year.

Please note due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot respond to each application.

How do I know if I’m eligible?

You are eligible if:

-    you are under 35 years old

-    you work primarily in contemporary music

-    you must be European, or currently reside in Europe or eligible countries
