ACHROME ensemble INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR SCORES 2025

Art 1: ACHROME ensemble, always attentive to new authors of its time, in collaboration with "Preludio" Editions in Milan, announces an international  Call for scores in TWO CATEGORIES

• Professional Composers, CATEGORY A),
• Students of Composition, CATEGORY B)

Both categories are without any age and nationality limits.   Each composer may participate with a maximum of three compositions; the duration of each work must be between 3 and 8 minutes. 

Art 2: For BOTH CATEGORIES, the scores MAY be written for: 

Ensemble of 2 to 5 instrumentalists

Solo instrument

The compositions MUST HAVE BEEN WRITTEN IN THE LAST 5 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS CALL FOR SCORES.

The available instruments for the compositions are as follows:

- Flute [1 player] (flute in C, alto flute, bass flute [in C], double bass flute [in C], piccolo, sopranine flute in F [with kazoo effect]) (*)     (*) You can use more instruments in a single work.

- Clarinet [1 player] (clarinet in Eb, clarinet in A, clarinet in Bb, bass clarinet) (*) (*) You can use more instruments in a single work.

- Violin

- Cello 

- Piano (with or without preparations) [1 player] 

 No form of amplification or live electronics is allowed. 

Art 3: For participation, a free contribution fee (minimum 35.00 Euro for each sent piece) is required. For young participants aged up to 25, which self-certify their enrolment in a Music Academy or a Conservatory, a minimum free contribution fee of 20.00 Euro for each sent piece is required.

b) or by Paypal on the account achr.ensemble.segreteria@gmail.com, on the name of Associazione ACHROME ensemble. 

Bank fees are charged to the competitor, who otherwise will be excluded from the competition. All documentation must be sent only in PDF format to the following email address:

call2025achr.ensemble@gmail.com  no later than December 10, 2025 and MUST include (under penalty of exclusion from the call for scores): 

1. A photocopy of a valid identity document of the composer; 

2. Application form, correctly filled out; 

3.For each category a maximum of three scores; scores must be anonymous and written with a digital writing program, preferably vertical.

4. A brief CV (maximum 200 words); 

5. Receipt of the transfer to the above bank or Paypal account. 

Any audio realisation of the score in mp3 format, with real or digital means, will be appreciated, purely on an optional basis. Personal data provided by participants will be treated in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no.196/2003, and will be communicated to third parties only and exclusively for reasons related to the events in which the works of the winners are included. 

Art 4: The Selection Committee will be composed of: 

- Simone Fontanelli, (President of the Jury), Marcello Parolini, Pasquale Punzo, Pieralberto Cattaneo, Stefano Taglietti, Paolo Coggiola, Antonio Toffolo

Art 5: At the end of the selection, the Commission will draw up a classification and will select:

• for CATEGORY A): up to a maximum of three winning scores;
• for CATEGORY B): one winning score.

The winning scores will be included in the programmes of the eighth edition of ... e adesso musica! - The contemporary music season of the Town of Bergamo at Sala Piatti, in collaboration with Associazione Musica Aperta. The winning scores will also be published by “Preludio” Editions in Milan and broadcast by RadiostART webradio, completely free of charge.  If the composer is under exclusive contract to another publishing house, he agrees to send a release for publication without copy limits.  It is within the above commission's power not to award all or part of the provided prizes and not to select any composition for publication. The results will be announced to participants and posted on the website of the ensemble www.achromeensemble.com by JANUARY 10, 2026. Any television or radio broadcast and recording are authorized by the authors of the compositions

Art 6: If selected, participants must provide per email the materials for execution within three weeks of the announcement of the results. The Organization assumes no responsibility for any problems of a technical nature preventing the loading, receiving and evaluating of posted materials. 

Art 7: For any doubt, refer to the Italian text. Any disputes are settled by the Court of Milan.
