Overview
The Teatro del Baraccano, in collaboration with Associazione VOI and supported by the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna, announces a call for opera singers and rptiteurs for the opera workshop ATELIER OPERA VOI. The project aims to produce Gianni Schicchi with fully staged and piano-accompanied performances.
Target Participants
Open to opera singers (14 roles) and 2 aspiring rptiteurs.
Eligibility: Open to all nationalities and ages, priority to candidates under 35. Non-EU applicants must have a valid residence permit and basic Italian knowledge.
Objectives
To offer professional training and stage experience, enhancing artistic, interpretive, and technical skills in an operatic context.
Programme Structure
- 20 full days of training in music, acting, and stagecraft. Instruction by: - Giambattista Giocoli (Conductor)

- Massimo Sceusa (Diction & Stage Movement) - - Carlo Morini (Stage Direction)
- - Donatella Dimarco (Stage Management)
Fees and Scholarships
Fees:
- EUR900: Main roles
- EUR600: Secondary roles and rptiteurs
- EUR200: Auditors
Non-refundable. Workshop requires minimum 10 participants.
Scholarships: Two EUR200 scholarships awarded for outstanding vocal performance.
Audition
Date: 5 September 2025, 10:00 a.m., Teatro del Baraccano, Bologna
Alternative: Video submission allowed.
Requirements: 2 opera arias (memorized for singers), motivational interview
Evaluation: Vocal/musical quality, interpretation, style, diction, stage presence, commitment Audition Fee: EUR50 (non-refundable)
