We’re excited to share with you a unique opportunity that combines high-level training and a professional commission: the Intensive Online Course “Percussion for Composers: Writing and Orchestration”, led by percussion soloist and composer David Moliner.

This course is designed for advanced composition students and professional composers who want to refine their skills in writing for contemporary percussion in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. It will be held through four live Zoom sessions in July 2025, and all sessions will be recorded for later viewing.

Professional Opportunity:
After the course, participants will have the chance to submit a 1-minute sketch. Up to 6 composers may be selected for a €3000 professional commission (travel and hotel expenses are covered), with world premieres scheduled in the 2026–27 season at Stadtcasino Basel (Switzerland), one of Europe’s iconic venues.

Key Dates:

  • Online Sessions: July 4, 11, 18, 25 (16:00–17:00 CET) (horary could be flexible)
  • Sketch Submission: within 4 weeks after final session
  • Commission Selection: September 2025
  • Premieres: 2026–2027 season

To apply, please submit:

  • 2 recent solo works (any instrument)
  • 1 ensemble work (2–20 instruments)
