Call For Scores-Hamilton International Contemporary Music Festival

We at Hamilton International Contemporary Festival invite you to submit your ensemble works to our second call for scores. We are committed to programming international composers in Hamilton, Canada. We will perform and record the selected works on a concert with our ensemble in Hamilton, Ontario in April 2026. Our call is open to composers anywhere in the world, in any stage of their career, and open to any aesthetic or approach to contemporary music. We can accept up to five pieces this year for performance. 

Submission Guidelines

Your piece must consist of at least 5 instruments from the following instrumentation. Any submissions with instruments not listed or less than 5 instruments in total will be disqualified. We currently cannot accept any pieces with electronics. Your submission must be no longer than 12 minutes in duration. Applicants may submit one work for each entry fee. Applicants should not remove their name or information from their score. The entry fee is $30 CAD and should be sent via PayPal to intonation@gmail.com or etransfer to hicmfontario@gmail.com. All entry fee payments go to our ensemble musicians. The Deadline for submission is December 10th by 12:59pm eastern standard time. 

• 1 flute, doubling possible on bass flute, alto flute and piccolo.
• 1 clarinet, doubling possible on bass clarinet
• 1 violin
• 1 viola
• 1 cello
• 2 percussionists
