Composition Competition Ensemble Écoute - VIIIth Edition

With the aim of encouraging contemporary music, discovering young composers from all over the world and promoting their music, the Ensemble Écoute launches the VIIIth Edition of the Ensemble Écoute Composition Competition.

Open to composers of all nationalities, born after January 1st, 1989, the candidates must submit  TWO works for an ensemble of 5 to 18 instruments written after January 1st 2021.

The prize-winning composer will receive 1700 to write a new piece of approximately 10-12 minutes for 6 to 8 musicians (instrumentation to be confirmed). The new piece will be premiered by Ensemble Ecoute during one of the concerts of the 2026/27 or 2027/28 season in Paris.

Applications must be received no later than Sunday 1st, March 2026  by email at the following address : e.e.concourscomposition@gmail.com.

The jury will be composed  by composers Gérard Pesson (chairman), Martin Matalon, Mathieu Bonilla (composer in residence 2020/22), violinist Rachel Koblyakov and the artistic and musical director of the Ensemble, Fernando Palomeque.

To participate, candidates must become members of to the Association Ensemble Écoute for 2026 through an online payment of a 20€ fee.
