Duo  Voce / Call for scores

Duo Voce, comprised of singer Christina Bernhardt and violoncellist Daniel Gutiérrez, both highly specialized in contemporary music performance, is excited to announce its first Call for Scores, seeking innovative compositions that explore the unique sonic possibilities of the voice and violoncello combination. With the aim of expanding the contemporary repertoire for this distinctive instrumentation and promoting emerging compositional voices, we invite composers worldwide to submit original works as well as to begin a collaborative process that pushes the boundaries of chamber music.

The call is reaching out internationally to all composers, regardless of their age, nationality, ethnic background or gender. Works can be  both purely acoustic or including fixed media and live electronics. Concepts for collaboration are also accepted.

Guidelines for submission:

  • Applicants may submit up to three works.
  • Submitted works must not exceed 10 minutes length.
  • Deadline: October 31st, 2025 (11.59am CET)
  • Submission Fee: 10 € per score (paid via PayPal to: via_nova@web.de)

Duo Voce:

  • Christina Bernhardt – Voice
  • Daniel Gutiérrez – Violoncello

The selected works will be performed at least twice during the 2025/26 concert series of Ensemblekollektiv Connect, of which Duo Voce is a founding member. The composers of the selected works will receive a travel stipend to attend the rehearsal and at least one of the concerts.

All submissions should be sent via email to: ensemblekollektiv@web.de with the subject heading:  “Duo Voce – Call for Scores – Your Name”  and should include link to a folder with permanent access to the following files:

  • PDF score and program notes
  • Recording in mp3-format (if possible)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Proof of payment of the entrance fee

The final selection of the works is made by the musicians and cannot be legally challenged.
