Echoes in Hybrid Space is a week-long international academy that will take place at the Grieg Academy and Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, 23-28 February 2027. It will bring together five composition students from the Grieg Academy and five selected international composition students. The program will host Ensemble Proxima Centauri (France), soloists Theofilos Sotiriades (saxophone) and Alicja Pilarczyk (violin). Composition lessons, technological guidance, and mentoring will be offered by Christophe Havel (Proxima Centauri), Stylianos Dimou, and Mikhail Malt (IRCAM). The academy features a four-day pedagogical program and two public concerts at Auditorium Knut Knaus. Analytical information about the program can be found here:

Dokumentation
All artistic outcomes will be professionally documented — multichannel audio recording, high-resolution video, and technical/pedagogical documentation — and published in Research Catalogue.

Requirements:
• all applicants must be enrolled in an educational
programme in composition (BA, MA, PhD/OMA or other)
• submission of 2 distinct works and their recordings
• up-to-date CV
Practical Info:
• The programme will take place between 23 and 28 February 2027
• Accommodation is covered by the programme
• Travel to and from Bergen is the responsibility of each participant
No previous experience with electroacoustic music is required.
Midi recordings are not accepted.
