EUROPASINFONIE — Call for Scores
Twelve countries. One orchestra. For the first time, Europasinfonie connects 12 locations across Europe into one networked orchestra and choir performing together in real time. Only the string section plays live in Dresden — all other instrumental groups and two choirs remain in their home countries yet play together as if in the same hall, transmitted via low-latency fibre and appearing life-size on LED screens above the strings.
Three composers will each receive a commission to write a complete work, premiered on 18 June 2027 in a real-time, multi-location concert distributed across 12 European countries, with a live audience in Dresden and worldwide live stream.
CATEGORIES
a) Orchestral work
b) Orchestral work with choir
Composers may submit one excerpt per category and enter one or both. The jury will commission two orchestral works and one orchestral work with choir.
DURATION
Competition excerpt: minimum 2 minutes.
Commissioned work (if selected): 15–20 minutes.
PRIZE
Each of the three winning composers receives a commission of €14,000 gross.
