The Inaugural “Golden Lotus Award” International Percussion Composition Competition

I. Event Overview

Organizer: Macau International Anti-Drug Association

Event Description: This competition is a joint initiative with the 3rd Macau International Percussion Music Competition, inviting submissions of outstanding percussion music works from around the world.

Event Schedule: The call for entries will be open from March 1 to July 1, 2026, with final evaluation and related promotional activities conducted concurrently. Specific dates will be announced by the official authorities.

The judging panel for this competition is headed by internationally renowned composers. The panel members combine professional expertise with industry influence, and the full list will be released on an official media platform at a later date.

II. Competition Process and Commissioning Rules

ISelection Process

1. Preliminary Evaluation

The preliminary evaluation will feature an online video review of shortlisted works, covering aspects such as composition and performance. From the global submissions, 24 outstanding pieces will be selected for the final round. The shortlist, along with composers' profiles and their works, will be promoted both online and offline during the 3rd Macau InternationalPercussion music Competition, with extensive publicity across various media platforms.

2. Multiple evaluations

This segment will be conducted through an online conference featuring video reviews, providing public professional critiques on 24 shortlisted works. The critiques will cover key aspects including creative concepts, artistic techniques, and practical performance compatibility. The judging panel will select three winning works from the shortlisted entries. The winning composers will be granted the opportunity to compose a new work which will be scheduled for its world premiere at the 2027 Macau International Percussion music Competition.

III. Submission Guidelines

IRegistration Method

1. Registration fee: Each participant may enter multiple works. The first entry costs 25€ (230 MOP), the second 14€ (130 MOP), and subsequent entries (third and beyond) are 7€ (65 MOP) each. When paying the registration fee, participants must fill in their name, artwork title, and other information in the remarks section for the organizing committee's reference.

2. The fee must be paid via international bank transfer and must be done in the local currency (Macao-Pataca / MOP). Applicable transfer fees must be paid by the participants. Due to its relatively low transfer fees, we recommend the service of Wise (https://www.wise.com) for the international money transfer.

3. Multiple entries require separate email submissions. The registration payment can be done once for multiple entries to avoid unnecessary transfer fees.

4. If there are any questions or problems regarding the bank transfer process, please contact 747leaf@gmail.com

5. Applicants with a Chinese bank account can pay the fee in Chines Yuan. Please see the Chinese version of the call (https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/DBTenFFo8V2w639rIpuyWA)  for further information.

2. Entries must strictly adhere to a 4-12 minute duration limit. No restrictions apply to the creation year, previous performance history, or past awards. Both original and adapted works are eligible for submission (adapted works must provide valid authorization; submissions without such proof will be deemed invalid).

3. To help the judging panel evaluate entries more comprehensively, the competition encourages participants to submit audio recordings (in MP3 format, maximum 10MB). This submission is optional, and it will not affect your eligibility or the judging process.
