We invite sound artists, composers, and sonic experimenters to set new boundaries using our new spherical spatial sound instrument, the Svarog 24 — part of the “Singing Watermelons” family.
What Are We Seeking?
We’re looking for work focused on exploring or leveraging spatial aspect of sound, with a strong conceptual quality, falling into one of 3 categories.
Sound Design
Experimental Pieces
Projects that disrupt conventions, experiment with form, or are built entirely around immersive spatial sound.
Composition
Electronic, acousmatic, generative or algorithmic — any approach that pushes composition into new spatial territory.
Live
Performance
Performances featuring live instruments, voice or electronics and creative live spatialization, with a focus on space as instrument.
Prizes & Opportunities
Grand Prize
1-week collaborative residency in our studio located in the middle of nature in the south-west of Poland, adapting your work for our newest instrument — Svarog 24, a spherical beamforming array
(prize value: €7000)
3 Runner ups
Weekend hands-on workshop focused on spatialization and adapting your work for spherical beamforming speakers (prize value: €2000 each)
Showcase & Library
All selected/shortlisted works may be adapted, presented, and included in our emerging library of works for spherical speakers (including our "Singing Watermelons", IKO by Sonible & IEM, and #393), with potential royalties from future events.
Terms
- Workshop participants cover travel to Poland
- This is for solo artists, small groups an exception
- Prizes are not exchangeable for cash
- Participants must be english-speaking
- Participants be citizens of EU or hold a Schengen visa
