HighSCORE Festival offers a unique residency for composers in its 2026 edition, featuring masterclasses specifically designed for composition. The upcoming 16th edition (July 20–August 1, 2026) will feature an outstanding, internationally recognized faculty: Dmitri Tymoczko (Princeton University), Florian Magnus Maier, Molly Herron (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and Pascal Le Boeuf (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), who form the core of the composition faculty. The renowned Trio Kanon will perform live the music submitted by participating composers. Founded in 2010, the HighSCORE Festival has become an invaluable venue for emerging composers. Participants work closely with a distinguished faculty, talented visiting artists, and special guests from around the world during two intensive weeks of masterclasses, lectures, workshops, and concerts. Participants enjoy the privilege of accommodation, meals, and studio space at a beautiful center nestled on a hill at the foot of the Belluno Dolomites, overlooking the Valbelluna and the Piave River valley, just over an hour from the magnificent city of Venice. There is no application fee. HighSCORE welcomes applicants of all ages and nationalities. Tuition is €3,200. Interested applicants are encouraged to complete the application form and submit all required materials by March 18, 2026. Detailed information and application guidelines are available on the festival’s official website.
