The infra.norma.meta residency centers on the conductor as artistic initiator, interpreter, collaborator, and producer. It brings together international conductors to develop new works, test new ideas, and examine how conducting shapes processes from conception and preparation through rehearsal, production, and performance.
Participants develop projects or further elaborate programs through score study, research, rehearsal design, ensemble communication, programming, and performance. The residency supports conductors in expanding their interpretative practices, articulating their methods, and exploring leadership responsive to musicians, materials, spaces, technologies, and audiences. Throughout the online sessions, participants critically reflect on their practices through the framework of infra, norma, and meta: infrastructures of production, conventions of interpretation, and practices that reconsider the conductor’s role.
The program provides a context for development through experimentation, collaborative practice, critical reflection, and exchange, while fostering international relationships and new forms of artistic dialogue.
