IV ARTSOM Musical Composition Competition – Mostra Sonora Sueca (2026)

The Mostra Sonora Sueca announces the IV ARTSOM Composition Competition.

Premiere & Venue
    •    The commissioned work will be premiered during the 22nd Mostra Sonora de Sueca, which will take place from 28 to 31 May 2026 in Sueca (Spain).
    •    Face-to-face rehearsals with the Fabrik Quartet and saxophonist Ricard Capellino will be held in Sueca on the days prior to the premiere (exact date TBA).

Commission
    •    New original work, 7–12 minutes, not previously premiered.
    •    Instrumentation: string quartet + saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor, or baritone).
    •    Audiovisual processes and new technologies may be included, with prior agreement with performers and organizers.

Prize
    •    €1,200 fee (taxes included).

How to Apply
Applications must be sent to mostrasonorasueca@gmail.com (subject: IV ARTSOM Musical Composition Competition), including:
    1.    PDF with personal details, CV, and short artistic proposal (title/idea).
    2.    Two original chamber works (max. 13 instruments, unconducted), with scores and links to recordings if available.
    3.    Proof of payment of the €20 registration fee, which covers administrative and evaluation expenses. This fee is non-refundable.

Key Dates
    •    Application deadline: 23 November 2025
    •    Winner announcement: before 23 December 2025
    •    Delivery of the commissioned score: 1 May 2026
    •    Premiere: 28–31 May 2026, during the 22nd Mostra Sonora Sueca
