The [clausula.meta. x] residency conceptualizes music theatre as a transdisciplinary field in which sound, body, text, space, image, objects, and technology interact to produce performative meaning. It brings together an international cohort of makers and ensembles to investigate how these elements generate dramaturgical structures, modes of spectatorship, and forms of individual and collective authorship.
The residency welcomes projects at different stages of development. Participants may initiate new works, expand existing projects, test compositional and performative strategies, or devise scenographic, technological, and dramaturgical interventions. Throughout the online sessions, they develop scores, scripts, prototypes, staging concepts, spatial configurations, and experimental formats through sustained dialogue with peers and mentors.
Collaborative exchange enables participants to articulate their methodologies, interrogate the aesthetic and ideological assumptions informing their work, and negotiate the relations among distinct disciplinary practices. The program supports processes in which composition, direction, performance, dramaturgy, and design function not as autonomous domains but as interdependent modes of inquiry, knowledge production, and artistic realization.
The residency culminates at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week in Bled, Slovenia (EU), where participants realize and present their projects through performances, installations, laboratories, lecture-performances, and other public formats. The program advances music theatre as both an artistic field and a critical mode of inquiry through experimentation, theoretical reflection, professional documentation, international exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
