Call for Acousmatic Electroacoustic Works
“In Italy the greatest poet is Sandro Penna.” Pier Paolo Pasolini so writes in Quasi un testamento.
The work of Sandro Penna, imbued with clear musicality and a universal vision, becomes a source of inspiration for new sonic creations. The artistic space in which the Perugian poet - a key figure in twentieth-century Italian literature - is honored is the festival CONTEMPOCLASSICA – OS Noon Concert Series, which will take place in summer 2026 at the Teatro del Pavone in Perugia, with the support of MiC and SIAE, within the “Per Chi Crea” program. In this context, the Opificio Sonoro Association selects original electroacoustic works through the OS Poetry Voices call, addressed to Italian female composers and sound artists under 35. The call requires the creation of original acousmatic works based on a selection of archival recordings in which Penna himself reads his poems.
Participation Requirements
Participation is open to female composers and sound artists of Italian citizenship under 35 years of age, i.e. born after January 1, 1991.
Only one work per composer / sound artist may be submitted.
Works must necessarily include the use and processing of any of the recordings available at the following link:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13ieug_VdEDQnJlSKEh_oH6ONOy4RP83a
