PIERO FARULLI INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2026 - Sixth Edition

The Piero Farulli Association, together with Orchestra della Toscana, Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia and Casa Ricordi, which will publish the winning scores, announces the sixth edition of the “Piero Farulli International Composition Competition” intended for original compositions for string quartet (2 violins, viola, cello) suitable for young musicians.

Composers can compete in two categories of technical levels: elementary or intermediate level of instrumental difficulty (Level A) and advanced level (Level B).

An international jury, led by Giorgio Battistelli, will select two winners (one for each level) who will be awarded the prize of 2.500 € and whose score will be performed for the first time by the Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia.

The scores, together with the required documentation, must be sent in PDF, by and no later than 9 p.m. (CET) on July 20th, 2026, as an email attachment to concorsocomposizione@associazionepierofarulli.com. If the file exceeds 1 MB use wetransfer.com.
