100 PLN / EUR equivalentWe are pleased to announce the fifth edition of our composer–performer project: PLAYGROUND: call for collaborations 2026
As always, its core idea is collaboration — open, inspiring for both sides, and focused on what is new and emerging on the artistic horizon. Our previous experiences have shown clearly that behind every piece lies a strong and creative relationship between the composer and the performer.
In 2026, the project draws inspiration from the work of Andrzej Wajda – his cinematic poetics, dramatic tension, and symbolic language, which serve as a starting point for the creation of new compositions.
PLAYGROUND is not a typical competition – it’s a unique invitation to create something truly exceptional together! Through the four previous editions, we have built 16 international, inspiring collaborations, which have flourished on the stages of both Polish and international festivals: Sacrum Profanum and Warsaw Autumn in Poland, Afekt Festival in Estonia, Svensk Musikvar in Sweden, and KLEXOLAB in Spain.
Who can apply:
Young composers (born after Jan 1, 1991) from all countries of the world
Deadline: December 31, 2025 (CET 23:59:59)
Theme: Focus on Andrzej Wajda – must include an electroacoustic layer using processed sounds from his film or theatre works
Stages: Application → Selection → Consultations → Reading Session → Rehearsals → Concert (June 2026)
