Score Follower 2026 Call for Works

Score Follower

Deadline

We are pleased to announce Follow My Score 2026, spring season. Approximately 30 works will be selected by the Score Follower jury, produced as “score videos,” and uploaded to our YouTube channel. Deadline: May 1, 2026. Apply at scorefol.io/callforworks

This call has two tracks:

  • Follow My Score: Score Follower will synchronize your media and score if not already completed. Preference may be given to already synchronized score videos, but it is not required. Works without a traditional score and recording (for example, with a visual component) will still be considered; include a link to your video as an external link. All submissions will be reviewed by the Score Follower jury.
  • so delicious... (People's Choice): Composers may opt in at submission to be eligible at scorefol.io/callforworks. One composer chosen by the community will receive $1,000, an interview, and a total of three works produced and posted on our channel.

Result notifications will go out by July 1. If you want to make a score video in the meantime, you can build one in your browser now: scorefol.io/dashboard. This is not a commissioning contest.

Terms and Conditions

  • Deadline: May 1, 2026
  • Submission fee: Free for the first piece.
  • Number of works: Up to three works per composer via the submission form on this page.
  • Subscription note: If submitting more than one work, please keep your Scorefol.io Subscription active throughout adjudication or additional works may be removed from consideration.
  • Materials: Provide a score and media file for each work. Higher quality recordings are preferred.
  • Eligibility: Composers of any age, nationality, or background may submit.
  • Permissions: If selected, you must secure permission for posting from any publisher, recording company, or performer or ensemble involved. If this is not possible, please do not submit. Performer names will be requested for credit in the video description. We will not upload your piece if permissions cannot be secured.
  • Work status: Works must be completed and not anonymized.
  • Media types: Works for instruments and/or electronics are welcome.
  • Display guidance: Very tall systems and large ensemble layouts often display poorly in a 16:9 frame; chamber or solo works are preferred for best viewing, though all works will be considered.
  • Visual-forward works: Submissions that include visual footage in addition to or in lieu of a score may, if selected, be uploaded to our Mediated Scores series.
  • Prior features: Composers previously featured on our channels may apply.
  • Conflicts: Members of the Score Follower team or active jury may not apply.
  • Rights and usage: You retain all rights. By submitting, you agree that we may upload your work to our YouTube channels during or after the call and may use excerpts or imagery for promotion related to Follow My Score. You may create or update a self-built score video on scorefol.io at any time; doing so can streamline review and production if your work is selected.
