VII RE_CRE@ CONTEST - CALL FOR ENSEMBLES

VII International Competition for the Interpretation of Contemporary Music – Re_Cre@ 

The Conservatori Superior de Música “Salvador Seguí” of Castellón announces the Final of the VII International Competition for the Interpretation of Contemporary Music: Re_Cre@, to be held on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, at 10:00, in the Chamber Hall of the Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló (Spain).

Re_Cre@ is an international competition dedicated to the interpretation of contemporary music and artistic proposals that may integrate acoustic music, technology, electroacoustic media, multimedia, sound art, and/or stage elements.

Eligible Groups

• Groups must consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 members.
• Groups may be directed or non-directed and may perform under any name.
• All participants must meet the requirements established in Base 1 of the competition rules. (SEE WEBSITE https://www.festmus.com/es/re_cre-2026/ )

Repertoire Requirements

• Each group must present a concert programme lasting between 15 and 30 minutes, consisting of one or more works.
• Works must have been composed within the last 50 years (1973–2025).
• Instrumentation, use of technological resources, and/or participation of stage artists may vary between works, provided that no more than six performers appear on stage simultaneously.

Competition Structure

First Phase – Selection
A maximum of four groups will be selected by two members of the jury based on:

• A curriculum vitae demonstrating the group’s artistic trajectory.
• An audio or video recording (professional quality not required).

These materials must be submitted together with the application, as specified on the competition website. UNTIL 23TH JANUARY. (EXTENDED DEADLINE)

Second Phase – Final (Public Audition)
The selected groups will perform their proposed programme in a live public audition before the jury.

• Date: Wednesday, February 11th, 2026
• Venue: Chamber Hall, Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló
• The programme performed may be the same as or different from that submitted in the first phase, provided it complies with the repertoire requirements.

The order of performances, rehearsal times, access to dressing rooms, and any necessary electronic or stage setups will be determined by the organisation according to the technical characteristics of each proposal and communicated to the selected groups in advance.
