ULYSSES JOURNEYS FOR COMPOSERS & PERFORMERS – IEMA-Ensemble 2024/25

The International Ensemble Modern Academy takes part in the impuls Academy 2025 and presents not only solo works and other contributions in small line-ups at the impuls MinuteConcerts on February 22nd, but also two concert programmes for larger ensemble at the impuls Festival. The programme includes a premiere of this year´s Ulysses-supported composer Yuheng Chen, alongside works from impuls Academy coaches Matthew Shlomowitz and Chaya Czernowin and a piece by Philippe Hurel, presented on February 23rd. Compositions selected through a Call for Scores – set up by impuls for young composers at the Academy and worked on on-site – is presented by IEMA-Ensemble 2024/25 on February 27th.

IEMA is the Ensemble Modern’s training center and offers training programs for various target groups. The focus is on the Master’s programme, which has been run in cooperation with the HfMDK Frankfurt since 2006 and which forms its own ensemble. The IEMA Ensemble 2024/25 will also perform at Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht in the context of the Ulysses Platform.
