Organised by Ultima
Articulating Your Artistic Identity
A practical workshop with communication strategist Magni Sørløkk
20 May, 18:00–19:15 CEST, online
This online session explores how performers and composers can speak and write about their work in ways that are precise, meaningful and context-sensitive. The workshop will address:
- how to move from technical language to communication that opens up the artistic ideas
- how to make your artistic practice clear without oversimplifying it
- how to understand who you are speaking to, and what they need in order to engage with your work
The workshop will be based on individual cases from participants, using material submitted in advance. The aim is to find ways of making your practice legible across different contexts, without losing what makes it your own.
You are invited to send in a short text, such as an artist statement, bio, or project description, or a video of up to 3 minutes presenting yourself or a project. 2–3 cases will be selected for collective discussion.
The session is led by Magni Sørløkk, a Norwegian communications strategist working across artist management, label, and creative direction. With a background in PR and strategic communication, her work focuses on helping artists and cultural projects articulate their identity, connect with audiences, and communicate with clarity and intention.
The session is organized in cooperation with Ultima Festival.
Deadline for submissions: 13 May. Please send your submission and any questions to community.ulysses@gmail.com
