MIXTUR AT PRIMARY SCHOOL (III)

Festival Mixtur invites students and teachers from different primary schools to get involved with the festival each year. The general objective of “Mixtur at primary school” is to introduce contemporary music to children and music teachers at the Primary Education stage.
In this activity, students from the school Teixidores de Gràcia of Barcelona attend Sidera Saxophone Quartet’s open rehearsal of the work “Knossos”, by composer Alberto Posadas. They are able to see how the quartet studies various passages, and highlights their sonorous and expressive qualities. The children ask the composer questions, and he shares his opinions and feelings with them. The session is prepared in the classroom with the teachers of each group, based on the analysis of the play (adapted for children) and attentive listening and comments.
