Marta Śniady
Born in Pabianice in 1986, Marta currently lives in Wrocław. She graduated with honours from the composition class of Bronisław Kazimierz Przybylski at the Bacewicz University of Music in Łódź (2010). For two years, she pursued postgraduate studies in film, computer and audiovisual music in Łódź, before obtaining a postgraduate degree in composition from Simon Steen-Andersen and Niels Ronsholdt at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus (2019).
Her music has been presented at Polish and international contemporary music festivals such as Warsaw Autumn, Sacrum Profanum, Musica Electronica Nova, Frau Musica (Nova), Pulsar, Klang, Heroines of Sound, Musica Estranha, and Percussion Plus. As a composer she has cooperated with groups and performers such as Kwartludium, ElettroVoce, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna, OMN New Music Orchestra, Ensemble Garage, Njyd, Hashtag Ensemble, and Duo van Vliet.
She is a composer of instrumental, stage and electroacoustic music; currently, she focuses primarily on audiovisual works. In 2013, she won the 1st Prize at the 11th T. Ochlewski National Composers’ Competition in Cracow. In 2016, Polish Radio submitted her composition aer for clarinet/bass clarinet and orchestra to the 63rd International Rostrum for Composers. In 2017, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. She works as an assistant professor at the Academy of Music in Łódź.
