ULYSSES JOURNEYS FOR COMPOSERS & PERFORMERS: Pro et Contra. New Music Stage
Organised by Lviv National Philharmonic, Ukraine
Pro and Contra. New Music Stage
Within the framework of the Ulysses Platform activities in 2026, the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic presents the concert series Pro et Contra. New Music Stage.
From April to August 2026, five events take place in the urban space of Lviv, specifically at the Temple of Trust of the Museum of Ideas. The series consists of five contemporary music concerts performed by five young Ukrainian musicians, members of Ensemble Nostri Temporis.
Each concert features a premiere of a newly commissioned work by emerging Ukrainian composers studying at four major music institutions in Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Lviv. They are: Valeriia Svyryda (Venera), Anastasiia Yakovlieva, Illia Levada, Mariia Verbiana, and Akim Zvarych. The project highlights dialogue, contrast, and collaboration between performers and composers of the younger generation.
The sixth event of the series takes place on 26 September within the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Contrasts”, featuring Ensemble Nostri Temporis. The programme includes newly composed works by young Ukrainian composers written especially for this occasion.
