ULYSSES JOURNEYS FOR SOUND DESIGNERS

At impuls Festival 2025, the ULYSSES Platform supports Benedikt Alphart as part of his ULYSSES Journey, first as a composer in Speculative Sound Synthesis, and also as a sound designer in the two activities below:
1) FLUXES
This project aims to explore the exciting possibilities that multimedia and live electronics bring to contemporary music composition and performance. The selected pieces will feature works by renowned composers and impuls coaches Pierre Jodlowski and Simon Steen-Andersen, as well as showcase innovative music from students who are actively engaged in electronic music. The program offers a unique opportunity to engage with the evolving relationship between technology and music, expanding the creative potential for both composers and performers.

2) GRANDE FINALE
For the Grande Finale of this year’s impuls Festival and Academy, students in the specialized master’s programme “Performance Practice in Contemporary Music” present works by composers Annesley Black, Franck Bedrossian and Clemens Gadenstätter, who teach at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and partly also at impuls, as well as a work of Mark Andre. A kind of home game with international appeal!
