A Journey of Artistic Discovery Across Europe
ULYSSES JOURNEYS FOR SOUND DESIGNERS
Organised by impuls, Austria
At the impuls Academy and its Festival 2025, the ULYSSES Platform supported Benedikt Alphart as part of his ULYSSES Journey, first as a composer in the Special Program "Speculative Sound Synthesis", and also as a sound designer in two further projects. In the latter, he was able not only to work with the PPCM-Ensemble and Dimitrios Polisoidis, but also with composers such as Pierre Jodlowski, Simon Steen-Andersen, Franck Bedrossian and Clemens Gadenstätter, partly also already before the coretime of the Academy. The results of this work were then successfully presented at the impuls Festival.
27 February 2025, 14.00+16.30, FLUXES, Reiterkaserne . Performancesaal, Leonhardstrasse 82-84, 8010 Graz
This project aimed to explore the exciting possibilities that multimedia and live-electronics bring to contemporary music composition and performance. The selected pieces will featured works by renowned composers and impuls coaches Pierre Jodlowski and Simon Steen-Andersen, as well as showcased innovative music from students who are actively engaged in electronic music. The program offered a unique opportunity to engage with the evolving relationship between technology and music, expanding the creative potential for both composers and performers.
