June 15-27, 2026 @Ircam: workshop, rehearsals, concert

IRCAM is offering a workshop led by Mauro Lanza, with the collaboration of two IRCAM computer music designers, to approach electroacoustic composition as a practice of form in motion, where continuity, rupture, and transformation become central issues. During the workshop, we explore different processes for constructing and articulating sound trajectories, transitions, and temporal evolutions. A specific attention is paid to the construction of large forms and the dramaturgy of listening. Finally, the workshop opens up a field of experimentation around algorithmic tools, extending the expressive potential of “classic” technologies —samplers, drum machines, arpeggiators — by diverting them from their automatisms to make them more open and flexible instruments.

6 emerging composers have been selected to be attend this workshop as part of their ULYSSES Journey:

Kenny Cairo (France)

Yue Chen (Chine)

Alexandre Craman (France)

Bengisu Önder (Chypre)

Jasper Seibert (Germany)

Li-Hsin Shyu (Taiwan)
