Music at Yours - House concerts in and around Oslo
Musicians from the Norwegian Academy of Music, the Lviv Philharmonic in Ukraine and the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) in Frankfurt move into living rooms, kitchens and gardens for this year’s Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, bringing live music to a series of different homes.
Each home offers a different setting for the emerging artists, who explore new ways of performing and meeting audiences. Each night offers something different, bringing together musical practices that range from experimental big band, contemporary chamber music to music theatre. The programme is tailored to each individual home, ranging from experimental big band music to contemporary chamber music classics, music theatre, and even a concert for solo nose.
Most of the houses were found by members of Ultima's House Concert Committee, local champions in their neighbourhoods who want more music and cultural life in their districts. Some homes signed up through an open form on the Ultima website. Last, a handful of homes of special architectural interest joined the programme through the festival's partnership with the festival Open House Oslo.
