ULYSSES JOURNEYS: IEMA-Ensemble Walking Concert

The International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) was founded in 2003 as the training centre of the renowned German Ensemble Modern. It offers educational programmes for a wide range of target groups, from outreach projects and international masterclasses for instrumentalists to formats designed for young artists at the beginning of their professional careers. Each year, Gaudeamus Festival hosts several concerts by that year’s IEMA-Ensemble, in which 14 talented young musicians tour Europe and gain invaluable experience.

On the opening night of the Gaudeamus Festival 2026, several members of the IEMA-Ensemble will have the opportunity to shine as soloists or in small chamber music settings. Several routes through TivoliVredenburg will lead the audience from one performance to the next, each showcasing the unique personalities and styles of the ensemble members.
